IT Band Stretch at Home
Do you experience lower back pain after sitting for extended periods of time? Your pain could be from a tight iliotibial (IT) band. The IT band begins at the ilium (the hip bone) and crosses down along the side of the thighs, over the knee joint and attaches to the tibia bone. After long periods of sitting at a desk or a table, your IT band may tighten and cause pain in your lower back.
Hand & Stone Massage Therapist, Cate, shows you how to do a simple stretch to loosen up your IT band after sitting for a long period of time.
