Ways to Stay Hydrated
Water has so many health benefits. It aids the heart with pumping blood through the body, helps muscles to function better, improves energy levels, reduces swelling in feet, and can help prevent headaches.
Are you drinking enough water to stay hydrated? It’s recommended to drink water when you wake up in the morning, during a meal and throughout the day.
If you’re experiencing symptoms such as dry mouth, unusual fatigue or sleepiness, lightheadedness, or extreme thirst, you may be dehydrated.
Try these tips to hydrate:
- Avoid or limit alcohol and caffeine and limit foods high in sodium
- Eat hydrating foods: cabbage, celery, spinach, lettuce, strawberries, watermelon, apples, grapes, oranges
- Drink water and teas throughout the day
- If you have trouble drinking plain water, add a little flavor to your water
