Neglected Areas

There are many body parts that people neglect during massage therapy because they are embarrassed, uncomfortable or feel it is not necessary to have addressed. What are they? The abdomen and inner thigh tissues.

The abdomen encompasses the entire digestive system along with other major organs.  Even just a few minutes of general mild pressured techniques applied over this area can increase blood flow to these organs and promote digestion and increase liver function.

The inner thigh houses the entire adductor muscle group.  These muscles are used every day when you walk, stand and run.  It is often  that when this area is treated, the inner thighs are extremely tight or partially in spasm.  This is caused from overuse and neglect.  When this happens it becomes very painful to have treated and then they are even more neglected and becomes a catch twenty-two.

If all of these above areas are treated at least once in a while, it can decrease the chances of many unwanted ailments that can arise when they are abandoned.

Domenic has been practicing massage therapy for over 18 years in all types of clinic and spa environments.  Having done so he has acquired and abundance of therapeutic skill sets incorporating deep tissue massage, shiatsu, acupressure, advanced joint mobilizations, remedial exercise and hydrotherapy into the ideally seasoned massage therapy experience.  Domenic also has training in clinical acupuncture, progressive facial manipulation and reflexology that is also fused into his treatment.

Domenic prefers to focus on the cause of underlying issues rather than treating the symptoms alone, which is proven more effective in the long run for client health.  Although treating all types of acute and chronic injuries is Domenic’s main focus, he is seamlessly able to perform general relaxation massage with ease.
